Sixth Grade Advice
I’ve once gotten lost in class so I got the question wrong so after that I stopped getting lost in class and payed more attention. In band the first couple of days I played the wrong notes but Mr. Steele helped me play the right note because some of the notes on a French Horn are really hard so I would mess up a lot but now I can play all the notes and they are pretty easy now thanks to all the band directors help. We now we are playing in concerts and competitions.
Always remember to bring all of your stuff and do your work on time because if you don’t then you could get a zero then have to stay after school and you don’t want to do that. Classes this year are a lot different than 5th because in 5th grade you have the same class mates the entire day but in 6th you have different classmates throughout the day.
I really like 6th grade because you have more freedom than 5th grade like at lunch you get to pick where you sit there are six seats at each table and if you ask then you can sit outside and you get early lunch every other two
weeks. I really like 6th grade but the first day is tough but you will get used to it after a couple of days.
Kids Education
Some kids love school and cherish it however there are other kids who don’t like school.
Malala wrote the book “I am Malala” to show how she stood up for girls education.
Malala sometimes had the chance to go to school but she always loved school just like other kids yet there are kids who don’t like school and have a chance to go every day.
To start with, Some kids don’t like school like Malala does “At home, in the evenings I wonder what I would do without school.” Like some kids think school is boring and useless but they don’t realize that they are very lucky. They sometimes try to skip school even though it’s wrong. They pretend that they are sick but they aren’t and need to go to school. Unlike Malala they do everything they can to not go to school
However, other kids that like school try to go any time they can. Some can’t go to school like other kids so they’ve always wanted to go and learn. The kids who do like school enjoy the little things in life. The kids who like school enjoy it because they can go and learn and see their friends.
That’s only a few reasons how some kids feel differently about school than other kids that I wanted to share with you.
Malala’s Goal
Education is important to Malala because she grew up around a school and always thought learning is important.
Malala always grew up learning “sometimes I’d get to sit in on classes with the older children, in awe as I listened to everything they were being taught” Malala stated in her book “I Am Malala”
Not to mention, Malala always wore her school uniform “As I grew, I longed to wear the uniforms I saw the older girls wearing when they arrived each morning” which Malala also stated in her book.
That is how education has always been important to Malala.
Technology Today
Communicating on technology can be easy and fun sometimes. However it can be very difficult sometimes. Although they bare some minor similarities the differences between communicating in person and in technology are clear.
Here are some similarities between communicating in person and through technology. In both ways you can bully someone. Like cyberbullying is bullying online and you can bully someone in person too. Both ways you can learn something.Like my friend helped me with homework through text and she also helped me at school. And that’s how they are alike.
Here are some differences between communicating in person and communicating through technology. Getting your feelings across are hard sometimes. Like one day I was trying to tell my friend something and she took the wrong way, the next day I saw her told her what I meant and we both laughed and hung out for the rest of the day, but if i would told her in person she would of got it sooner. Spelling is a big difference because when you’re talking in person you don’t have to worry about spelling but in technology you have to spell things right for them to understand.
That is some similarities and differences I wanted to share and next time you need to tell someone something important just call or go to them and tell them.
Disney
A week before Christmas break
I went to Disney World
I had to fly in an plane
For 3 hours
I went all the way to Orlando, Florida
Whenever we got to the top of the clouds
It was all I could see
It was amazing
I’ve never been in an plane before
So it was a little scary
We finally made it to Disney
We checked into our room
Then we got on a bus
That took us to one of Disney’s parks
The first park we went to was Magic Kingdom
Because that’s where our first fast pass was
When we got there it smelled like cotton candy
And buttery popcorn
There was like a million people
And there parades with fireworks and music
It was awesome
But when the day was over
We went to our resort
Went to bed and waited till the next day to come
“Out Of My Mind”
Reflection Of “Out Of My Mind” Book
Words are everywhere
They are important to our lives
Words can be bullies
They could be your friend
It just depends on you
Words may make people look at you different
Never say rude words, keep them positive
So NEVER say rude words
Literary Response
I think that ‘out of my mind’ is realistic fiction, and here’s why I think so…
For a start I think it’s realistic fiction because Melody can’t walk she can’t talk and that could happen in real life “I can’t walk . I can’t talk. I can’t take myself to the bathroom.” I think it’s realistic fiction also because realistic fiction means that it encounters on people and places so true to life, you’ll think it’s real “For example one afternoon earlier this summer, I had a taste for a big mac and a shake.” Here’s another reason why I think it’s realistic fiction , it’s written in first person point of view “ I’m surrounded by thousands of words. Maybe millions.” That’s why I think that this story is realistic fiction.
Sharon Draper Writing
I like many decisions that Sharon Draper made. I love how she wrote it in first person point of view “How could she understand that I loved the song Elvira by the Oak Wood Boys when I barely understand myself.” Sharon Draper has good descriptive language “They’d see a girl with dark brown eyes that are full of curiosity” She’s a very creative story teller “A puppy! A golden retriever puppy!” I really enjoyed this book by Sharon Draper and I hope she writes another book!
